Playing Blackjack is EASY! Here's all you need to get you started:

1. Enter the amount of your bet in the white square to the left of the word 'BET'; unless otherwise specified, your maximum bet is 300 credits.
2. Click on the word 'BET', and your cards will be dealt. Based on your cards, you will then be able to HIT, SPLIT, DOUBLE, buy INSURANCE, or STAND by clicking on the appropriate button.
3. When you either bust (go over 21) or decide to STAND, the computer will finish out the dealer's hand and tell you how much you won or lost. That's all there is to it!

Here's a detailed list of all of the commands available in Blackjack Time and what they do:
BET: You click on this button AFTER you've placed the amount that you want to bet in the white box to the left of the button. You can't change your BET until you've finished the hand that you're playing. The maximum amount that your bet can be is 10% of the number of credits that you started the round with; for example, if you start with 3000 credits, your maximum bet is 300. When you lose all of your credits, you are given another 2000 (what nice people we are!!), and at that point your maximum bet is 200. If you lose the 2000 credits, you are given 1000 credits and your maximum bet is 100. From that point on, if you run out of credits you are give another 1000 and your maximum bet stays at 100.
HIT: Clicking on this button will make the dealer give you another card. You can't HIT unless you are playing a hand. When you are given a card, it's value is added to the total value of your hand. If the total is OVER 21, you automatically lose and the dealer doesn't have to finish his hand. If your total is UNDER 21, you can either HIT again to get another card or STAND, telling the dealer that you're done taking cards.
STAND: Clicking on this button tells the dealer that you're done with your hand and that it's his turn. The dealer will then draw cards until HE has either more than 17 (at which point HE will stand) or until he BUSTS (goes over 21 points). If the dealer busts, you win. If his total is LESS than yours, YOU win. If his total is GREATER than your, HE wins.
SPLIT: You can only SPLIT if you have 2 cards of the SAME VALUE in your hand, ie a pair of 2's, 3's, etc. Splitting turns your hand into TWO hands by taking your second card and creating a new hand using your split card as the first card of the hand. Each time that you split, you effectively DOUBLE the amount you are betting, since each hand has to have a bet associated with it. As as example, let's say that you were dealt 2 Jacks on a 300 credit bet. If you clicked on SPLIT, your second Jack would disappear and be replaced with another card... let's say you got a 9. Your current hand would then be a 19, and you would click on STAND to indicate that you were done with this hand. A new button would pop up on the playing field telling you to click on it to play your SECOND hand, and when you do, you see that the first card is the Jack that you split at the beginning of your first hand, along with a new card... let's say that it's a 5. You could either stand or hit at this point. No matter what you do, when you click on STAND, the computer will finish the dealer's hand and then summarize ALL of your hands, telling you whether you lost or won each hand.
DOUBLE: You can only double when you have 2 cards in your hand (in other words before you've taken a hit), and they can be ANY 2 cards... they don't have to be the same, as in the case of a split. When you DOUBLE, your bet gets multiplied by 2, you get one more card, and you *automatically* STAND. NOTE: BLACKJACK TIME is the only site that allows you to DOUBLE DOWN FOR LESS than the amount of your initial bet - just as they do in Vegas.
INSURANCE: When the dealer has an ACE showing, you may purchase INSURANCE by paying UP TO one-half of the amount of your bet. (NOTE: only BLACKJACK TIME allows you to bet less than one-half of your bet as they do in Las Vegas). Our Blackjack Time game is then played out with the player splitting, doubling, down etc. The dealer then turns over the hole card. If the dealer does have blackjack, then the player receives two for every one credit paid as insurance. Any of the player's additional bets for double downs, splits, etc. are returned to the player as the player loses only the initial bet (assuming the dealer has a blackjack). If the dealer does NOT have a blackjack, the game is resolved as any other hand. NOTE: BLACKJACK TIME does not immediately determine whether the dealer has a blackjack because the dealer does not actually receive the last card (the hole card) until all other cards have been dealt. THE REASON: a hacker can't see that which doesn't exist and this method protects the integrity of our game. This method of dealing the last card to the dealer only AFTER all other cards have been dealt, is the same as that done in Monte Carlo with one major exception: THEY KEEP ALL SPLITS, DOUBLE DOWNS, ETC. if the dealer does end up with a blackjack. Some Las Vegas casinos will also play the hand out before determining whether they have been dealt a blackjack but, like BLACKJACK TIME, they will also return all additional bets made by the players if the dealer has a blackjack.
STATS: This will show you your position in the tournament that you're playing in. NOTE: BLACKJACK TIME is the ONLY game site that has this feature that allows everyone to see their standing against everyone in the entire world IN REAL TIME!
HISTORY: This will show you the last 20 bets that other players in this tournament have made and whether they won or lost.
EMAIL: Clicking on this button will bring up a blank message addressed to the administrators at Blackjack Time if you have a question or comment about the game. NOTE: This will not work unless your browser is configured to send email.
LOBBY: This button will take you back to the Lobby where you can change games, etc.
HELP: Brings up this screen.
