Alvis Saracen 6X6 APC

The Alvis SARACEN is a six-wheel drive heavy armoured personnel carrier. It was designed for a driver and commander, plus up to ten others or 2500 kg of cargo.  It is driven by a ROLLS ROYCE COMMERCIAL GRADE GASOLINE B80 8 CYL. ENGINE, and is steered with both the front and center axels.  Its all-wheel independent suspension uses lateral torsion bars to provide excellent on and off road performance.  The armoured hull can withstand .50 caliber weapons from any direction because of its “chassis-less” construction: the hull is basically an armoured box in which the engine and drive line components are mounted.
